Assessment & Intervention Center
The Assessment and Intervention Center (AIC) is a licensed behavioral health residential facility for youth, aged 8-17 years. It is designed to provide intensive treatment services utilizing behavioral therapeutic interventions to address the referral and needs of each member in a structured setting. The assessment process and discharge planning are designed to quickly return these youth to a supportive community. With around-the-clock support, each member receives a functional behavior assessment (FBA) designed to follow them and support their stability in the next living environment. The AIC program is short-term with a length of stay up to 30 days.
All residents are closely supervised, throughout the day, to ensure maximum participation in the treatment process. Progress toward monthly individual goals are measured and documented on a daily basis.

Desert River was created to serve children with behavioral health diagnoses who are experiencing severe emotional and behavioral issues and have complex needs. The facility is equipped with video monitoring and anti-ligature fixtures to increase the safety of all members served. Desert River has specialized expertise to serve youth with co-occurring disorders, including developmental disabilities and history of trauma, as well as involvement with the Department of Child Safety/Child Welfare System. The program focuses on stabilizing youth through the use of Applied Behavioral Analysis/Behavioral Interventions, to address acute maladaptive behaviors such as severe impulsivity, aggression, DTS/DTO, depression, mania, anxiety, psychosis or other behaviors resulting in inability to remain in the community. Desert River may be used as a diversion from higher levels of care, including psychiatric hospitals and/or more lengthy treatment in Behavioral Health Inpatient Facilities (BHIFs). The Desert River program is intended to be short-term, with a usual length of stay of 60-90 days. However, the length of stay can be abbreviated or extended, based on individualized need.
