Tucson- Students from the Intermountain Academy are teaming up with the Menlo Park Neighborhood Association to help maintain a local trail.
The group has adopted a stretch of the Santa Cruz River Park Trail, between Congress and St. Mary’s Rd.
Residents and students with autism will be working together to beautify the trail, increase the students’ social skills and provide work training.
“Our kids have such a great experience in being apart of this neighborhood and really collaborating with the association,” CEO and President, Rose Lopez said. “We’re thankful they have this opportunity.”
Intermountain leaders say they help 5,000 at-risk individuals each year.
